New N.Y. Innovation Tech high school will ‘smash status quo’

Organizers hope a new high school opening in Liverpool next fall will help spark a transformation of teaching and learning in schools across the region.

Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES will open Innovation Tech in September with a combined 60 students in ninth and tenth grades. Over the following two years it will grow into a 120-student, 9-12 high school.

BOCES officials say it will shred traditional concepts of the school day, the division of subject areas and even the relationships between students and teachers.
