NJ district names first female superintendent

After starting her career at Henry P. Becton Regional High School as a Spanish teacher 33 years ago, Louise Clarke soon will rise to the district's top position.

Clarke will be sworn in as superintendent on July 1, becoming the first female leader in the district's history, and a rare superintendent to be hired from within.

"It's a goal I set for myself quite a long time ago, and I'm very proud to be the first female to become superintendent," said Clarke, 55.
