Officials in Illinois district remove hooks after 'hanging game'

Barrington school officials are removing hooks from the bathroom stalls at all elementary schools after two second-grade boys were found playing a "hanging game" -- twisting by their shirt collars from the hooks.

Other students discovered the boys playing the game earlier this week during a lunch and recess period at Countryside Elementary School in Barrington District 220, school officials said.

The boys were evaluated “to make sure they were not harmed” and their parents were notified, according to a statement released by the district.  It said the students "who saw the reckless behavior were also counseled."
