Another four school districts “scrubbed” students from their rolls and might have been awarded higher state report-card ratings than they deserved, says a state audit released this afternoon.

Canton, Cincinnati, Northridge schools in Montgomery County and Winton Woods schools in Hamilton County are the additional districts found to have systemically withdrawn then re-enrolled students who had never actually left, a process called “scrubbing.”

In an interim report in October, State Auditor Dave Yost said he already had found that Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Marion and Campbell schools in Mahoning County were systemic scrubbers because they had devised methods to improperly withdraw students and throw out their test scores and absences.
