Ohio high school students to take ACT or SAT for free

This fall's Ohio high school freshmen can take the ACT or SAT for free when they're juniors, courtesy of the state.

It's one of many changes that are coming to K-12 education, beginning with the 2014-15 school year. Those include new graduation requirements for the class of 2018.

As part of a broader effort to encourage Ohio teens to continue their education after high school, the state department of education will pick up the tab for juniors to take a nationally recognized college admission test.
