Oregon teachers report their curriculums are aligned to Common Core

Oregon schools as a whole began a full-scale switch to teaching to the ambitious Common Core State Standards for reading, math, writing and analysis just this school year, although some districts started earlier.

So it was notable that 80 percent of Oregon teachers reported this spring that the curriculum taught in their schools covers the skills called for by the Common Core.

That sometimes-controversial set of stepped-up expectations for students has been agreed to by 45 states as a replacement to the assortment of less-demanding state academic standards they had been using.
