Friday, June 13, 2014

Today PassTheNotes, a cloud-based platform that makes it easier for teachers and students to collaborate and share content inside and outside of the classroom, announced a reseller agreement with NEC Corporation of America (NEC; TSE: 6701), a leader in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). PassTheNotes and NEC Corporation of America will bring together their technological capabilities, channel partners' sales presence, and collaborative tools to provide a complete cloud-based content management solution for schools.

This agreement will allow PassTheNotes to provide end-users with a simple, flexible, anedd comprehensive platform, while utilizing several hundred NEC Corporation of America channel partners with thousands of sales representatives across the United States to actively sell in districts nationwide. The combined world-class technology NEC offers in the communications market and the innovative cloud solutions by PassTheNotes, provide a joint solution that will position both companies on the leading edge of the market. The PassTheNotes platform helps school districts meet one-to-one technology goals and advance the digital classroom in a manner that both enriches learning and increases student engagement.

"Through this agreement, NEC continues to bring rich, innovative solutions to our education customers while incorporating the expertise from PassTheNotes," said Andrew Beckmann, director of business development. "We are excited about the partnership and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to merge this leading edge content management technology with NEC's innovative collaboration solution for the benefit of K-12 schools, Higher Education institutions, and even enterprise customers as time goes on."

"Our collaboration with NEC Corporation of America will help give students and educators the cutting-edge resources and support they need to be successful in the classroom and beyond," said Frankie Coletto, chief executive officer of PassTheNotes. "Through our technology, we strive to enhance educational engagement and collaboration in today's digital classroom environment."

PassTheNotes' cloud-based platform provides a single sign-on solution for today's digital learning needs. Many schools and districts have tried to use either learning management systems designed for virtual education, or educational social networks designed for communication. In both cases, they have found that neither meets both teacher and student needs. PassTheNotes' blended learning platform does provide the needed solution for schools and districts' one-to-one technology initiatives that will meet their needs today and continue to grow as new technologies emerge.
