Pennsylvania board chooses Monica McHale-Small for superintendent

The Saucon Valley School Board officially sealed the deal on hiring a district superintendent Tuesday with a three-year contract and an enthusiastic education chief who said she can't wait to start.

Monica McHale-Small will be leaving her position as assistant superintendent of the Bensalem Township School District in lower Bucks County and start work in the district Aug. 11 at a yearly salary of $142,500.

"I have to tell you that this is the first time that I can't wait for August," she said after the board unanimously approved her three-year deal.
