Portland, Ore. School Board Candidates Field Questions

Five candidates running for three Portland School Board seats made their cases to voters on Wednesday, staking out their positions on issues such as standardized testing and how to tackle the achievement gap.

In Zone 4, incumbent Martin Gonzalez is defending his Zone 4 seat against Steve Buel. Incumbent Pam Knowles is running unopposed for Zone 5 and newcomers Tom Koehler and David Morrison are vying to replace Trudy Sargent for the Zone 6 seat.

Mark Langseth, the president and CEO of "I Have A Dream" Oregon moderated the Concordia University forum, which was co-sponsored by the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods and the City Club of Portland.
