Portsmouth (R.I.) school superintendent resigns

Portsmouth School Superintendent Lynn Krizic has resigned, according to a statement released by the school district Thursday.

"The Portsmouth School Committee has accepted the resignation of Superintendent of Schools Lynn Krizic effective today, July 31 to resign her position as Superintendent of Schools effective today," wrote School Committee Chairman David Croston in a statement. "She has agreed to be available to the district as needed to support the transition in leadership of the Portsmouth School Department."
