Principal Finishes Boston Marathon at Her Michigan School

Bombs interrupted elementary school principal Pam Mathers' quest to run the Boston Marathon a half-mile from the end, but her proud students helped her cross a finish line Wednesday in Troy.

With bells ringing, children clapping and yelling and other educators watching with tears in their eyes, Mathers, 62, of Bloomfield Hills broke through a strip of blue paper marked "2013 Boston Marathon" in the Hamilton Elementary School library.

"My medal! I got my medal!" Mathers said to cheers as she was handed a little plastic medal after she stepped across "Finish" in yellow tape on the library floor.
