Report: Hudson County schools in N.J. lost out on $400M in state aid

Hudson County schools were shortchanged more than $400 million in state aid in the past five years, according to a study by the Education Law Center.

This year alone, the schools missed out on roughly $100.8 million in funding, according to the study. North Bergen schools lost the most this year at $24.3 million, though Bayonne was a close second at $23.6 million, according to the report. Hoboken schools were underfunded by $1.1 million.

According to the report, North Bergen ranked as the seventh most underfunded school in the state for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
