Residents near Tonawanda (N.Y.) city school voice concerns about stadium construction

Work on the new athletic campus at Tonawanda High/Middle School is ramping up, but a few homeowners on nearby Adam Street are upset about the impact of the construction on their properties. The residents voiced their complaints to the Tonawanda School Board during a meeting Tuesday night.

Adam Street resident Beverly Ranney told the board she is concerned about the new Clint Small Stadium’s impact on flooding and drainage in her home.

The stadium “abuts right up against my property,” she said.

“They’ve raised (the grading) two to three feet. It appears it’s not going to take much to overflow. It’s going to back up in our basement, which it already has. My whole life is affected by what you’re doing here.”
