Ridgewood schools (Ohio) names John Marks new superintendent

The Ridgewood Local School District has named a new superintendent for the 2013-14 school year.

The board met Friday morning and voted to hire John Marks, current superintendent of Mapleton School District in Ashland. The vote was unanimous. Frank Mathews was out of town, but board president Jamie Hicks said he received a text from Mathews indicating his full support of Marks.

Bill Zanders has served as the interim superintendent since Nov. 1, after the July 31 retirement of former superintendent Rich Raach. Deborah Kapp-Salupo, Coshocton County Career Center superintendent, was the acting superintendent for the district from Aug. 1 to Nov. 1.
