Frank Rocco, who has been serving this year as interim principal of Kalamazoo's Woodward School for Technology and Research, has been named the school's permanent principal.
The appointment was approved Thursday by the Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education. Woodward is a K-5 magnet school.
Rocco previously worked as a home-support specialist for four years at Kalamazoo's Washington Writers' Academy and then for six years as a Woodward teacher.
Rocco has a bachelor's degree in geology from Florida State University, a bachelor's in elementary education from Western Michigan University and a master's degree from WMU in educational leadership.
