Scenario Learning, developer of safety and compliance solutions for schools and workplaces, and the Florida School Boards Insurance Trust (FSBIT) announce a partnership bringing the SafeSchools Online Staff Training System to FSBIT member districts, free of charge. The agreement supports school administrators, who are continually challenged to develop new strategies that safeguard their students, staff and assets.

FSBIT members now have complimentary access to the entire SafeSchools Online Staff Training System, including a library of courses covering important school safety topics. All SafeSchools Online Staff Training courses are 100 percent school focused and written by the nation’s leading safety experts. Using the online system, administrators can easily track training, monitor progress, download compliance reports and view or print certificates of completion. Participating FSBIT full-member districts are:

  • Alachua County School District
  • Citrus County School District
  • Lafayette County School District
  • Okeechobee County School District
  • St. Johns County School District
  • Santa Rosa County School District
  • Suwannee County School District
  • Taylor County School District

“SafeSchools Training has become the flagship in a carefully planned safety effort to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace accidents and injuries this school year,” said James D. Barnidge, Coordinator of FSBIT’s Loss Control Services. “We introduced the program in one of our member districts last year, and I've never seen more excitement associated with the introduction of any safety effort. That positive response solidified our decision to bring SafeSchools Training to all of our member districts. This partnership is definitely going to make a difference in Florida schools.”

The Florida School Boards Association established FSBIT in 1981 as a direct response to the difficulties and expense school districts face in acquiring insurance protection, handling claims, training staff and managing loss control at a reasonable and affordable cost. Today, FSBIT assists school districts in reducing risk management costs by providing training and services, in addition to purchasing insurance coverage through its pooling efforts.
