School District Continues Search for Cheaper, Cleaner Energy for Buildings

The Stow-Munroe Falls School District is still looking for ways to save money by cutting costs with energy.

On Sept. 24, during a regular Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education meeting, Jeff Burns, Northeast Ohio regional manager for Dovetail's Cleveland Office, told the Board about the advantages of having solar energy powering a facility.

"We have been talking about the option of having a solar panels as a way to save dollars for our taxpayers by cutting our energy costs," said Superintendent Dr. Russ Jones. "So we wanted to make sure we were looking at other companies."

Burns told the Board that most people are not aware that one hour of energy from the sun is enough to power the entire world for up to a year.
