Gaston County Schools wants to start a chain reaction of caring one student at a time.
The goal is to create a cultural shift to change Gaston County into a kinder place using the Rachel’s Challenge program. But the school system needs the community’s help. “As a school system we don’t stand a prayer of being successful without partnerships,” said Gaston County Schools Superintendent Reeves McGlohon Thursday at the first community kickoff for Rachel’s Challenge.
Gaston County Schools doesn’t have a bigger bullying challenge than other districts, McGlohon said. The district is also among the safest among large urban school districts.
