SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), a leading provider of collaboration solutions, announces the release of new display products designed to provide exceptional collaborative learning experiences for students. The new products include the SMART BoardÒ E70 interactive flat panel, the SMART Board M600 series of interactive whiteboards and the SMART UX80 ultra-short-throw projector. All SMART Board interactive displays include the latest version of award-winning SMART Notebook™ collaborative learning software, and give educators access to the SMART Exchange™ online education community where over one million educators connect, share and download high-quality digital resources. The introduction of these new products provides teachers and administrators with increased flexibility in display and projector options, and furthers the opportunities for classrooms to leverage existing products and infrastructure.

The new display products are designed to further enrich SMART Collaborative Classrooms - complete technology-enabled education spaces that meet the needs of all types of learning and teaching styles. These classrooms feature SMART Board interactive displays, education technology, content and software for teaching and learning as well as mobile devices that are seamlessly integrated with the SMART Notebook software platform.  SMART will also add new cloud based functionality to this classroom solution, leveraging the power of SMART Notebook to support collaborative learning anywhere, anytime, and on any device a student is using. SMART Collaborative Classrooms transform learning environments in ways that inspire students to actively engage in their learning, leading to increased student enjoyment and achievement.

Designed for educators, the SMART Board E70 interactive flat panel provides brilliant visuals for an unparalleled viewing and writing experience, offering the best value for classrooms. The high-definition, shadow-free 70” (177.8 cm) LED display features low-friction coated glass that enables fingers to glide smoothly over the surface, facilitating a natural touch experience. The display also virtually eliminates glare and provides an optimal view from any angle in the classroom. The multitouch SMART Board E70 features freestyle multiuser interaction anywhere on the display, enabling students to collaborate without limitations. The introduction of the SMART Board M600 series of interactive whiteboards brings the addition of dual-user interaction to the world’s most popular line of interactive whiteboards. The SMART Board M600 series enables two students to naturally collaborate anywhere on the interactive whiteboard using their fingers, pens or other objects. Students can interact with the display using intuitive touch gestures, such as pinching, zooming and tossing. The new series includes the SMART Board M685 with an 87” (221 cm) display and widescreen 16:10 aspect ratio and the SMART Board M680, featuring a 77” (195.6 cm) display with a standard 4:3 aspect ratio. The new SMART UX80 ultra-short-throw projector is 3D and HD-ready, offers two HDMI inputs, an integrated speaker, and provides teachers with the ability to control two displays simultaneously. The new projector provides 3,300 lumens for classrooms with high ambient lighting, and an ultra-short throw distance that virtually eliminates shadows and glare. The extended control panel provides easy access to numerous audiovisual products in the classroom and enables teachers to switch between inputs and access power and volume controls from one location. The projector features a simple installation and comes with a long-lasting lamp and filter-free design to reduce maintenance costs. The UX80 is available as a stand-alone digital projector or may be integrated into the widescreen SMART Board 885ix2 interactive whiteboard system or SMART Board 685ix2 interactive whiteboard system.

“SMART Board interactive displays are an essential part of SMART Collaborative Classrooms because they enable educators to transform teaching and learning with visual, interactive and engaging lessons that inspire collaboration,” says Greg Estell, President, Education, SMART Technologies. “With the introduction of these new products, SMART now offers class-leading multitouch interactive displays in all three formats – interactive projectors, interactive flat panels and interactive whiteboards. And all of SMART’s interactive displays are supported by SMART Notebook, the world’s best collaborative learning software.”
