A group of Jackson Public Schools District bus drivers are protesting instead of driving their routes today. JPS bus drivers marched down Watkins Drive today from Watkins Elementary School to Lake Hico Park while shouting their demands.
JPS Superintendent Cedrick Gray said the majority of students arrived to school on time.
"Our plan to supply substitute group bus drivers and reach out to members of our community who are willing and able to work is working," Gray said at a press conference Wednesday morning.
He would not elaborate on how many substitute bus drivers were called but said parents were instrumental in getting students to school.
