Study notes high turnover of school superintendents in New York county

Seventy-five percent of the superintendents of Hudson Valley school districts have been in their current positions for five years or less, according to a study conducted by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.

Of all Hudson Valley superintendents, including interims, 21 have been in their current posts for nine months or less, Pattern said.

The “revolving door” of school administrators is spinning “faster than ever before,” the study’s author, said Pattern Vice President Barbara Gref.
