Wayne schools Superintendent Raymond Gonzalez has resigned to take a job leading the Westwood Regional School District, where he once served as a school principal.

Gonzalez, who became Wayne’s superintendent in December 2011, announced his resignation at a Board of Education meeting on Thursday. His last day will be Aug. 1, after having serving 2 1/2 years of his four-year contract.
