Tennessee district approves $1 million for school tech plan

The Madison County Commission meeting erupted in applause Monday as commissioners voted to give $1,017,500 to Jackson-Madison County Schools to fund the beginning phase of a long-range technology plan for teaching and learning.

Almost all the system’s principals as well as concerned citizens celebrated the vote as a giant victory for the school system and a step in the right direction in the embrace of technological advancement.

School Board Technology Committee chairman Jeffery Head said he is excited about the result of the vote.
