Think Through Math (TTM), the award-winning, web-based, supplemental math program that provides comprehensive instruction and practice for students grades 3-Algebra I, announced today the students of its THINK Nation donated nearly $1,500.00 to The American Red Cross Colorado Flood Relief Fund, bringing the total amount of program donations to more than $48,000 in the past year. The check presentation will take place at The Red Cross Mile High Regional Headquarters in Denver on November 6, 2013 at 1:00p.m.

Think Through Math's one-of-kind motivational program provides students with opportunities to make donations to featured charities with their THINK points. TTM donates one dollar for every 5,000 points to select charities. In the past year, TTM students have contributed more than $48,000 to several charities including The American Red Cross, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital and Make-A-Wish.

The American Red Cross Colorado Flood Relief Fund was established on September 18, 2013 to support Colorado residents after devastating flooding severely affected the state. Almost immediately, students of THINK Nation jumped in and pledged their support by donating their THINK points to the charity. Over a four-week period, students donated nearly $1,500.00 the American Red Cross Colorado Relief Fund.

“We're constantly amazed by the numbers of students who are committed to donating their points,” said Kevin McAliley, CEO, Think Through Math. “We believe that giving students the option to donate their hard-earned THINK points to charity instead of earning rewards for themselves develops lifelong decision-making and citizenship skills.”

Created by teachers and technologists, TTM provides supplemental math instruction and practice to help students in grades 3 through Algebra I prepare for the rigors of the Common Core State Standards and next generation assessments. Within one year of its launch in summer 2012, TTM grew to support more than two million students in 43 states.

TTM supports blended learning by providing highly personalized, adaptive lesson pathways with direct instruction. As students work in the system, they receive immediate corrective feedback and have instant access to certified, U.S. math teachers, including bilingual teachers, for 90 hours a week.

In addition to using THINK points to make charitable donations or earn rewards, TTM also features dynamic motivational tools including game mechanics and opportunities for students to participate in multi-state contests.
