The Uncommon Thread and Scholastic Intervention Solutions join forces

Monday, May 12, 2014

The newly formed nonprofit organization combines years of experience and work dedicated to furthering the mission to advance the lives of children diagnosed with autism and related learning disabilities.

By integrating the administrative tools, eLearning, and remote support developed at SIS, with the (ABA) behavior therapy and consultation services provided by The Uncommon Thread, the organization can extend its reach to scores of more children in a variety of therapeutic settings including: in-center, in-home, in-school, and in-community.

"When we opened The Uncommon Thread in 2006, 1 in 150 children was being diagnosed with Autism. Today it's 1 in 54 in New Jersey", says Greg Carr, founder of both TUT and SIS. "That stat is alarming, we knew we had to do something to reach more children...we could no longer wait for them to come our center...we had to find them."

The Uncommon Thread - powered by Scholastic Intervention Solutions offers ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy to children in their center, in the home, and in the community. They also provide school districts with all the tools and services necessary to build a quality ABA program so that it meets the needs of their Learning Disabled population in the "least restrictive environment".
