Norfolk has decided to team with S. B. Ballard Construction Co. to build five new schools for the city.
City Council announced during a meeting Tuesday night that it approved a memorandum of understanding, giving the city and school system the green light to work with the company to construct the schools.
Owner and CEO of the company, Steve Ballard, told WAVY.com he is a Maury High School graduate. He said, from discussions with the city, he believes the plan is to build Campostella (K-8) first immediately so it can be functional quickly. Then Broad Creek would be built, followed by Camp Allen (K-5), Ocean View (K-5) and Larchmont (K-5).
