For a third consecutive year, VizZle is offering their innovative visual learning software free to school districts for helping children with autism and special needs.

Over $250,000 in free teacher licenses and professional development were awarded as part of a Visual Learning TechGrants program.

“The response to our Visual Learning TechGrants has been incredible” according to VizZle CEO Terry Murphy. “Since we launched the program two years ago over 300 applications have been submitted. Choosing winners has been very difficult but the winning applications all demonstrated a combination of a strong leadership vision as well as teacher commitment to meet the growing demand for interactive instruction aligned with IEPs. It is so critical for special needs students and their teachers to have access to effective tools in the classroom. Our goal is to help every child with autism or special needs reach full potential.

The eight applicants securing major grant awards are:

  • Riverside Unified School District, CA
  • Autism Service, London Borough of Sutton, UK
  • Boston Public Schools, MA
  • Intermediate School District #917, MN
  • Fort Worth ISD, TX
  • St. Mary's County Public Schools, MD
  • Lancaster Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13, PA
  • Fitzhugh Lee School (Cobb County), GA

Grantees will receive VizZle District Edition for the school year, which includes access to up to 100 teacher user licenses per awardee, ongoing progress data, professional development and tech support. The average award is valued at approximately $25,000. In total, 450 teachers and 5000 students are expected to benefit. District Edition is the latest development in the VizZle Learning System series, designed to provide school systems with a scalable, district-wide solution that becomes an essential part of the ongoing special education best practices.
