Washington district no longer allowing kids to bring in birthday treats

The long-held tradition of parents bringing in juice and sweets for a child’s birthday — BANNED by a school district in Washington state.

According to Q13 in Seattle, the Edmonds School District’s Wellness Committee recently banned edible treats in classroom parties.

The school district says birthdays and parties will be celebrated with non-food treats and favors.
