Worcester superintendent of schools is graded 'proficient'

The Worcester, Mass. school committee gave Superintendent Melinda J. Boone an overall rating of "proficient" in her first review under a new format.

It was the first time the committee had spoken with one voice on an evaluation, and it was the result of new state requirements that have changed how teachers, principals and superintendents are reviewed.
