New programs to help students meet tougher academic standards and a state-mandated teacher rating system helped to boost New York City's public schools budget to a record $24.8 billion next year.

Both conditions are required by the Colorado Constitution.

Children in elementary school at the Huntington County (Ind.) Community School Corporation during the 2013-2014 school year will not receive individual iPads. The board of trustees voted 5-2 on Wednesday, May 30, to shut down phase two of the digital curriculum, which would have given iPads to elementary school students.
