Fond du Lac (Wis.) School Board to Elect Officers, Decide Pay Rate

Cleveland District Considers Using Funds to Build Downtown

Although the Cleveland School District is leaving its longtime offices on East Sixth Street this summer, school board member Eric Wobser wants the district to increase its presence downtown. Wobser has proposed using all $4.5 million from the sale of the district headquarters to the Drury hotel chain for creating a new school downtown, or expanding one or both of the district schools already there.

Wyoming School Design and Planning Funds Approved

The Wyoming School Facilities Commission approved funds for planning and design of 19 projects intended to aid school districts running out of classroom space. A $10 million allocation by the 2013 state legislature was divvied among 18 districts. The list includes $1 million to fund the design of a new elementary school in the Natrona County School District.

The Coalition for Community Schools will present an Award of Excellence to Harmon Johnson Elementary School on June 6 in a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
