SAYREVILLE — Center for Lifelong Learning, which opened in September, has received a green thumbs up from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The school ranked 18th nationally on the EPA's new Top 20 K-12 Schools' List of Green Power Purchasers.

The list cites school districts that represent the largest green power purchasers among primary and secondary schools. Green power is electricity that is generated from environmentally preferred renewable resources, such as wind, solar, geothermal and low-impact hydro, according to the EPA. Green power purchases also support the development of new renewable energy generation sources nationwide.
