A federal lawsuit against a Florida school district alleges two black women who scored well on an adult skills test in 2010 were accused of cheating because, they were told, "you people don't score that high."

The Maryland Department of Education is about to make a very big mistake. Under the Education and Secondary Education Act (better known as No Child Left Behind), low-income families whose children attend low-performing schools are eligible to receive supplemental educational services outside of the regular school day.

Federal education officials said they would investigate allegations by a civil rights group that black students in Jefferson Parish are being arrested at a disproportionate rate by law-enforcement agents who patrol public schools.
