Triumph Learning lauches Waggle SBAC

The assessments for Triumph Learning's new Waggle for the Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium (SBAC) include 26 different item types. Smarter Balance is one of two multi-state consortia awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 to develop a Common Core-aligned assessment system by the 2014-2015 school year.

Four California districts expand use of Lexia Reading program

After piloting the Lexia Reading Core5 program in six schools, La Mesa-Spring Valley School District has expanded the program to include all of its 17 elementary schools. Palm Springs USD has implemented the program as an essential part of their literacy curriculum. Colton Joint USD and Newport Mesa USD have expanded usage to 24 and 18 additional schools, respectively.

Texas ISD incorporates personalized literacy in 1-to-1 program

Texas' McAllen ISD is implementing myON to provide students with 24/7 access to over 7,000 books. District administrators opted to deploy myON to all 20 elementary and 7 middle school campuses.

Freeman Health System in works to partner with Mo. district

A possible partnership being considered between the Neosho School District and Freeman Health System could help students obtain quicker access to medical care. In addition to having school nurses communicate with a clinic's nurse practitioner about sick students, students could also be sent if needed to receive medication or examined.
