HP signed a two-year contract for five out of six categories in the New York State (NYS) Aggregate PC Initiative. As part of the Initiative, HP will be the first-choice provider for nearly 65,000 desktops and 27,000 notebooks for all state agencies.

The recent acquisitions include Chalkable, a grade book and educational content platform; Learning Earnings, an online behavior and performance incentive program; and Spiral Universe, a next generation SIS for the private school market.

Torsh Inc. and New Teacher Center have launched a beta version of its Ask a Mentor service, powered by Torsh. The new mentoring service for teachers offers on-demand access to expert mentors. The full launch of Ask A Mentor will occur in late August.

Created for school and district administrators, the course outlines evidence-based methods to improve the odds of survival during an active shooter event.
