LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. has debuted the Learning Friends brand, a new collection of friendly characters for children ages 2-5 years old. Featuring 11 animal school friends, the characters help children prepare for their first days of school through pretend play and fun dialogue.

Schneider Electric announced that Vista USD became the third of San Diego County’s 42 school districts to have its Proposition 39 Energy Expenditure Plan approved by the California Energy Commission. The district will receive $4.7 million that will be used for a variety of energy efficiency retrofits.

Rancho Minerva Middle School and Vista Innovation and Design Academy are among eight schools in the nation chosen to take part in Verizon Innovative Learning Schools, a program focusing on the greater use of mobile technology in education to enhance students' studies in the classroom and at home. The program will provide students and teachers with tablets and training.
