Hooda Math has released five math manipulatives designed to be completely device agnostic, including Base Ten Blocks, Number Line Integer Addition, Hundreds Chart, Algebra Tiles and Algebra Balance Equations. These free manipulatives are built using HTML5 code, enabling students to access them on a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

Dawn Pro Audio announced a new speaker line employing original acoustic waveguide technology. The new Dawn AW4 features four drivers in 3-way configuration and 1000-watt Class D amp. A smaller, battery-powered version, the Dawn AW3, features three drivers in 3-way design and a 40W linear amp.

The New Media Consortium and the Consortium for School Networking, with the support of HP, released the NMC Horizon Report > 2014 K-12 Edition. It describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in K12 schools.

Rourke Educational Media introduced library-bound Spanish collections with science, history and social skills titles targeted for students in kindergarten and elementary and middle schools. The new Spanish series includes titles such as Green Earth Science Discovery Library, History of America, Little World Social Skills and others.

Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in North Carolina will implement Knovation's digital learning resource library, netTrekker, in all K8 schools. As the largest public school district in the state and the sixteenth largest in the country, WCPSS will offer the educator-curated digital content to more than 100,000 students across 137 elementary and middle schools.

Curriculum Advantage announced an alliance with Scantron to integrate Curriculum Advantage's Classworks with Scantron Performance Series and Scantron Achievement Series assessment solutions. Classworks will take the assessment data provided on individual students to create customized assignments.

Brooklyn Public Library has received a two year, $400,000 grant from the New York Life Foundation to expand its Brooklyn Connections program. The program is a school outreach initiative that offers middle school students rare access to original archival materials that document the borough’s development history through a special collection of more than one million items from a variety of media.
