Because our students are battling "information overload," an increasingly impactful cultural dynamic that's requiring very specific skills to tackle the ever-evolving digital learning environment. Since many students don't have those skills, they're essentially facing these challenges unequipped to win.

Early decision applications are due in November and FAFSA becomes available in January, which means college bound seniors need to start shaping up their essays, test scores, and grades - stat. It’s a lot to process, but luckily Shmoop, one of the world’s largest digital publisher of educational guides and resources, launched its newly revamped College 101 just in time to take students’ sweaty-palmed hands through this all-important decision.

The nation’s largest teachers’ union is partnering with Teach Plus to launch a selective fellowship that will empower solutions-oriented teachers, most of whom are in the first 10 years of their careers, to advise union leadership on teacher engagement and retention.

Working with Cloud services provider Boxed Network and Ericom, Jackson implemented PowerTerm WebConnect as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution , which amongst its improved usability and lower IT overhead, saved Jackson from having to invest in on-premise IT infrastructure.

The School District of Osceola County chose The Rourke Reading Web– a program that includes both software and books with a focus on a student’s fluency and vocabulary development – as a reading intervention program to help ELLs who scored at level 1 on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) Reading and Science to improve their reading and science skills.

Over the past three months, Robertson and the other finalists had the exclusive opportunity to work directly with a 3M Scientist as they created their personal innovation as part of a summer mentorship program. The 3M Scientists provided guidance to the finalists as they developed their ideas from a theoretical concept into an actual prototype that would help solve a problem in everyday life.

With funding from donors, schools and MIND Research, the South LA Community Math Project will provide grants to approximately 20 high-need schools in the area to implement MIND Research’s blended learning ST Math program, which includes instructional software, teacher training and year-round educational support.

RelampIt’s Lamp Recycling Raffle runs October 14th through November 22th. To participate all are simply invited to recycle spent projector lamps. Send a minimum of 5 lamps to the RelampIt Recycling Center, which qualifies for one entry in the lamp recycling raffle.

The Safeboard, is made using Armormax, a protective material developed by IAC, that can withstand the firepower from a handgun to automatic weapons. Designed with discretion in mind, the Safeboard is designed to blend in with surroundings and can be incorporated into shelving units, whiteboards, doorways and other classroom elements

Guided by AASL’s “Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Programs”, the NSLPY award seeks to reward and promote exemplary programs that empower learners to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information. Each winning school library program will receive $10,000, plus a crystal statue.
