Reading Assistant uses the power of speech recognition technology to “listen” to students as they read aloud, providing feedback at just the right time. It features more than 300 pieces of content at a range of reading levels, and includes non-fiction and fictional texts.

The school leaders will spend November 13-15 at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, located outside of Kansas City, MO, to explore US Army best practices in leadership development as it applies to their role as civilian education leaders preparing today’s students to be college, career and citizenship ready.

The Time To Know platform – which has been shown to increase students' academic achievement and standardized test scores in pilots in Grand Prairie, Texas, and New York City – transforms the classroom by empowering teachers with the digital content and tools that they need to effectively drive student performance.

This includes on-site training and consulting for schools and districts, professional development workshops for teachers and administrators, and publications and study-group resources to support professional development for K-8 educators.

The program expands the use of technology, digital devices and digital curriculum for 3,200 fifth grade students across 27 Broward County elementary schools. D5 students and teachers are accessing HMH’s celebrated core curriculum materials via Kno’s cutting-edge delivery platform on personal, district-issued laptops.

The new professional learning program is available in many formats: online, interactive webinars, onsite sessions or custom packages. Participants will learn how to maximize the use of digital content to better address the new requirements and the depth and rigor of the Common Core State Standards.

Now in its second year, HISD’s Career Pathways program gives more than 200 teachers the chance to serve in leadership roles on their campus, while paying them more money for their hard work. Traditionally, top teachers have been forced to accept administrative jobs in order to earn higher pay.
