Lowell Strike, Little Elm ISD's lone finalist for the position, was officially named as superintendent. Strike, who will begin with the district in January, previously held the position of associate superintendent of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.

Interim Superintendent Paul Smotas announced that the Connecticut elementary school district's school board appointed Brian P. Murphy to the job, effective January 20. Murphy is currently the principal of Great Oak Middle School in Oxford, where he has been since 2006.

The Bullard ISD Board of Trustees named Todd Schneider as the lone finalist for its superintendent of schools position. In addition to teaching and coaching, he served as assistant principal for Crandall ISD and as principal and superintendent at Martin's Mill.

Lipscomb University Senior Vice President Candice McQueen is Gov. Bill Haslam's pick to fill Tennessee's high-profile education commissioner position. McQueen will replace Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman, who announced last month plans to leave his post in January to return to the private sector.

The Illinois school district's new superintendent, Michael Robey, is replacing two interim superintendents who have been sharing the job since July. Robey currently serves as superintendent in Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89.

Kent ISD Superintendent Kevin A. Konarska announced plans to retire at the end of the current school year. He will begin his ninth year with the district in January.

The Texas district voted unanimously to have Paul Cruz lead the district as superintendent. Cruz has been the interim superintendent since Meria Carstarphen left at the end of this past school year for the superintendent job in Atlanta.

Mary Kay Andrews will take the reins of the Ohio district, after serving more than 30 years at the Career and Technology Education Centers of Licking County, most recently as the vocational school’s director of district services. Andrews will replace Jay Gault, who is taking medical leave for the final six months of his contract before he retires.

Paul Cruz has been named the sole candidate for the Texas district's superintendent position after two other candidates for the job withdrew their names from consideration. Cruz had been serving as the interim superintendent since April after Meria Carstarphen left to lead Atlanta Public Schools.

Elaine Nutter, superintendent of schools for School Administrative District 28 (Camden-Rockport K-8) and the Five Town CSD (Camden Hills Regional High School) resigned her position, effective July 2015. Nutter has been with the two districts for five years, first as assistant superintendent and then as superintendent in 2012.
