The Seattle Public Schools board voted to make Interim Superintendent Larry Nyland permanent in the position through June of 2017. He was appointed interim superintendent for the 2014-2015 school year.

The Pennsylvania district tapped Randy Ziegenfuss to serve as its next superintendent. He currently serves as Salisbury's assistant superintendent for teaching and learning. Before taking on that position in 2012, he spent six years as the district director of data and technology.

Steve Gast's resignation as the top school leader of the Alaska school district has been accepted by the Nome Board of Education.

The Orange County School Board appointed Brenda Tanner as superintendent. Tanner has served as the interim Superintendent since Robert Grimesey’s departure in June 2014.

The Linn-Mar Community School District announced Quintin Shepherd, currently superintendent of Illinois’ District 69, as its next superintendent. He will take over from Superintendent Katie Mulholland, who is retiring.

Louisville Public School’s board of education voted to offer the district superintendent position to Andrew Farber, now principal of Arlington High School. The current superintendent, Gregory Shepard, plans to let his contract expire at the end of June 2015.

Avella Area superintendent Janell Logue-Belden has been named as the Pennsylvania district's new superintendent. She will replace Janet Ciramella, who will retire in April after 25 years in the district, including the past two as superintendent.

The Alabama county's school board voted to hire Robbie Owen, the former principal of Rockwell Elementary School, as the school district's new superintendent. Owen, who has been serving as the system's interim superintendent since mid-August, replaces Alan Lee, who announced his resignation in August.
