If all goes as planned, Michael Ross will be the new superintendent of the Union School District by next summer. He is currently a high school principal in the district. The board hired Michael Hink as interim superintendent for the current school year after Superintendent Alfonso Angelucci left in June.

Christopher Hoffman has been named as the California district's superintendent, overseeing 62,500 students in 64 schools. He previously headed up the El Dorado Union High School District with nine schools spread over 1,200 square miles. Hoffman's predecessor, Steven Ladd, retired after nine years as superintendent.

Elk Grove USD hired Christopher R. Hoffman to head up the 62,500-student district. He has been with El Dorado Union High School District since 2008, spending the first two years as associate superintendent and the last four as superintendent.

The Massachusetts district named Karol G. Coffin as its new superintendent. She has been a principal for Attleboro Public Schools since 2007. Coffin is expected to begin work as the Belchertown school chief by January.

Michael Thomas, the superintendent of the Capital School District in Dover, has decided he will retire in June 2015. Thomas has led the district since 2002.

Wythe County Schools Superintendent Lee Brannon will reitre at the end of this school year. Brannon became the local school superintendent in 2009.

Pamela C. Brown has gotten a new start and a new job title as chief of elementary schools for the 40,000-student Fontana USD in California. Brown will supervise 29 elementary schools out of 45 the district operates.

The New Jersey district's board of education members voted to appoint Lamont Repollet, principal of Carteret High School, as its permanent superintendent.

Fred Heid is officially superintendent of the sixth largest school district in the state. Heid was issued a non-provisional superintendent certificate by the Illinois State Board of Education. Although Heid was credentialed to serve in his previous position as a superintendent in Florida, Illinois does not allow for reciprocity.

The California district brought in Julie Mitchell, the chief personnel officer for the Tustin USD, to serve as Rowland’s top administrator. The search for a new superintendent began last April, when Superintendent Ruben Frutos decided to step down.
