Longtime Michigan district superintendent retires

South Lyon Community Schools Superintendent Bill Pearson has retired after 20 years as the district's top leader. Since Pearson started, the number of students has grown from 4,200 to 8,000 and voters passed six bond proposals that brought about seven new school buildings.
