Improving educator effectiveness: What works?

Join noted education researcher Dr. Robert Marzano and senior administrators from the New Haven and Denver school systems for a presentation on what district leaders can do to help teachers achieve excellence. With initiatives such as the Gates Foundation's MET Project, policies such as Colorado's Educator Effectiveness Bill, and Race to the Top's focus on measuring teacher effectiveness, there is an increased need to understand the characteristics of effective teaching. Given new requirements that tie teacher effectiveness to funding, and link student performance to teacher effectiveness ratings, how can districts best support teacher development to increase student learning? This web seminar will feature a rich discussion among district practitioners and thought leaders who are actively testing and uncovering solutions.
