Integrating instruction and formative assessment effectively

Educators know that frequent and ongoing formative assessment not only prepares students for high stakes testing, it also provides insight into where learners are missing concepts or need content enrichment. Districts face challenges when integrating formative assessment into daily instruction, but those who are able to overcome those challenges (often using technology tools to do so) demonstrate a track record of success in driving student achievement.

This Web seminar will examine:

  • The research that describes the benefits of frequent and ongoing formative assessment
  • How daily classroom practice can take advantage of technology tools to integrate formative assessment into instruction
  • Reporting tools that district offices can use to determine how students are achieving
  • Real world examples of effective integration of formative assessment into instruction

  • Cathy Groller, Superintendent, Milton (PA) School District
  • Paul Buckley, Senior Product Manager, eInstruction
  • Sheila DeJoode, Senior Product Manager, eInstruction
