Middle School Math: Practical Methods for Foundational Learning

The middle school years are critical for mathematics education. As students prepare for coursework in the milestone areas of algebra and geometry, educators must find ways to engage learners in more complex mathematical concepts while preparing them for the next generation of high stakes assessments requiring deeper thinking.

Attend this webinar to hear from Nigel Nisbet, Director of Content Creation for the MIND Research Institute, about some of the challenges of middle school math from both a teaching perspective and from the learner’s point of view. Nisbet will be joined by Shannon Duncan, a sixth grade teacher from the Orange (Calif.) USD’s McPherson Magnet School focusing on math, science and technology, who will provide practical insight into how educators address these challenges in the classroom.

Topics will include:

  • The critical importance of middle school math instruction
  • Keys to preparing middle school students for next generation assessments
