Successful communication strategies for district leaders

Fostering a sense of community among your district's schools and families is difficult. Administrators face demands on all sides: from parents who expect achievement, from staff members who expect clear objectives, from policymakers who expect reform, and from the community at large, which expects fiscal responsibility. They need to hear from districts, and that need starts at the top. This Web seminar will feature leading superintendents who have used every tool in their communication arsenal--voice, e-mail, press, social media and mass notification--to establish a leadership voice in their community. Topics include:

  • Collaborative communication with parents and community members
  • Introducing yourself to a new district
  • Communicating change while implementing reform
  • Building consensus with union members
  • Generating revenue and cost-savings with tools you already have

Who will benefit: Superintendents, assistant superintendents, communication directors, technology directors, board members and other district-level administrators concerned with district communications and public relations. Anyone may register.
