Study Island is an online standards mastery and test preparation program, with customized content built around each of the 50 states’ standards. Recently added to the program are materials based on the Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRT), built specifically on the Core Curriculum Standards that are tested annually on the CRT in grades 3 through 8. Foundationally and statistically research-based, the program enables students to choose their style of learning and work at their own pace, using either a standard test format or any of a variety of interactive games. Incorrect answers are immediately addressed with an explanation, and the program records statistics for each student using multiple real-time reports. Teachers also have a choice of using a printable worksheet or classroom response pad with the program, making Study Island a flexible, customizable solution providing assessment, differentiated instruction and instant reporting.



One Day Visitor Pass, Security Badge, Facilities, from $75 for a book of 500

Data Management’s One Day Visitor Pass enables administrators to issue nametag security badges that cannot be used more than once, ideal for settings with a high volume of visitor traffic and low financial resources with which to manage it. When a visitor signs in and fills out an adhesive nametag, the patented fold-over tab activates, and in 24 hours the badge shows a red “Void” box. Because these nametags change color, they cannot be tampered with or reused, preventing unauthorized access and increasing the security of the building. The single-piece design makes the badge cost-effective and environmentally friendly. An optional duplicate log can also be purchased, which includes a sealed label liner to ensure visitor information will be stored confi dentially and cannot be viewed by other visitors.



eSuite for Everyday Mathematics, Online Supplement, Books and Materials, $336 annually per class

Wright Group/McGraw-Hill has created new online tools for the third edition of Everyday Mathematics, the standards-based elementary math curriculum developed with the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project. The third edition offers more support for learning differences, extra help for English Language Learners, enhanced assessment, and new support for pre-K and kindergarten classrooms. The new eSuite also provides tools to assist teachers in planning, monitoring students’ performance and improving their school-home connection. The eSuite home page enables access to an ePlanner, an assessment anagement system, math games, interactive teacher and student reference books, and family letters. Accessible from any Internet-connected computer, the eSuite allows teachers to plan upcoming lessons anywhere without having to bring materials with them.

M+Archive, Software, pricing varies

M+Archive is a policy-based e-mail archiving and e-discovery solution. It preserves e-mail as federally mandated and empowers districts to defend themselves during litigation, while driving down the cost of e-discovery and data storage. The solutionautomates the archiving of e-mail messages and their end-of-life destruction and also enables districts to quickly search and retrieve archived e-mails on demand. E-mail data are converted into a format that can be easily shared with external parties. M+Archive also works with M+Guardian, Messaging Architects’ e-mail policy enforcement and data leak prevention solution, to prevent lawsuits by filtering inbound and outbound e-mails for security threats, data leakage, and offensive content.



FirstClass Collaboration Suite 9.0, Internet, $10 per student license

FirstClass 9.0 offers a set of enterprise-class integrated applications that enable district administrators to create collaborative online communities that securely connect students, teachers and parents with resources via any Internet-connected device. Applications include e-mail, instant messaging, calendars, contact management, workgroup collaboration, Web publishing, blogging and the newest feature, archiving. Developed to address recent legal compliance issues, FirstClass Archive Services provide automatic archiving capabilities at the server level. Other features of the Collaboration Suite 9.0 include student e-mail accounts, a safe student social networking system, professional development tools that enable sharing of best practices across districts, and e-learning enhancements that enable virtual schooling.

Performance Tracker is an entirely Web-based assessment management solution that tracks and analyzes student achievement and provides a single point of contact for educators to easily access state and local assessment data along with essential student information. Teachers or administrators can easily view student, school and district performance history in three clicks of a mouse, allowing them to quickly identify problem areas and implement solutions. Additional features include interactive charts and graphs, data filtering by school, teacher, class, student or demographic, customcreated student groups, easy alignment to state standards, and seamless integration with Performance Pathways’ Assessment Builder product.

Infinite Campus is a Web-based student information system that provides districts with the integrated tools needed to streamline student administration, enable stakeholder collaboration and individualize instruction. As a Web-based system, educators, parents and students have access to information from anywhere at any time. Infi nite Campus also serves as a districtwide data warehouse allowing student data to be entered once and leveraged across the entire district, which supports data-driven decision making. LS Test Builder is an online e-learning tool focused on providing standards-based formative assessment and targeted, integrated instruction.
