Adventure to Fitness
This educational fitness video program includes live action episodes to get students exercising and learning. Every episode provides 30 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous exercise that ties together cognitive development and overall wellness lessons. Adventure to Fitness is Common Core-aligned and was developed with input from leading educational, medical and parenting experts to develop healthy minds and bodies.
The First Tee National School Program
The First Tee
The First Tee National School program introduces elementary school students to the game of golf. First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits teach basic golf skills, like putting, chipping and swinging. The program also provides professional development, age-appropriate materials, golf lesson plans and equipment.
Answers in Motion
This soft, multi-purpose ball helps students develop language skills, healthy body language and inferential thinking along with the muscle coordination to throw, roll, catch and aim. The Thumball’s “Move Your Body” panels direct students to take actions such as "Flap your wings and soar,” “March proudly and salute” and “Lift your knees to your elbows."
CATCH Early Childhood Kit
For children ages 3 through 5, the CATCH Early Childhood Kit is designed to nurture a love of physical activity, introduce students to classroom-based nutrition, and encourage healthy eating. The kit’s lesson-plan manual comes with removable pages for easy duplication and sharing by teachers and PE specialists. It also includes over 400 activity cards that promote moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and a music CD to motivate students.
The ENERGI Jr. Total Body Fitness System is an ergonomically designed playground set for children ages 9 to14 that combines functional fitness and bodyweight training. ENERGI Jr. provides a gym-like experience with seven outdoor stations and 84 exercises. Each station’s easy-to-understand instructional signs have 2D codes that a teacher can scan with a mobile device to show students videos of the exercises. ENERGI Jr.’s free lesson plans accommodate up to 28 children using the system at once.
The GeoMotion TV streaming video program combines movement with academic content such as STEM, literacy and nutrition. It offers more than 250 videos of exercises that can be performed in a small space. Activities incorporate Common Core standards with literacy, math and science lessons. GeoMotion TV also has a free iPad and iPhone app.
Polar GoFit Heart Rate App
Using the Polar GoFit heart rate app—along with Polar H7 Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensors and an iPad—instructors and students can track heart rate, calories burned and other fitness metrics. Students also earn virtual badges for accomplishing pre-set goals. Fitness data can be projected onto a large screen for class discussion. The polargofit.com web tool lets parents and students view lessons and track fitness progress.
