Dr. Steve Miller Joining Neuroscience Ed Tech Company, Nervanix
June 20, 2014, Ft. Myers, FL -- Nervanix, a leading innovator in the application of neuroscience to the field of education, announced the addition of Dr. Steve Miller as Chief Science Officer.
Dr. Miller recently completed work with the Sally Ride Science Center where he was responsible for overseeing the business development activities to drive revenue and develop long-term partnerships. He has extensive academic and business experience in the transfer of technology into rapidly growing science-based start-ups. Previously, Steve was on the executive team at NeuroFocus managing the staff and operations for their global neurolab laboratories that provided neuromarketing research for Fortune 100 companies in the US and abroad.
Miller’s prior leadership role in education included the co-founding of Scientific Learning Corporation, a neuroscience-based technology company serving K-12 students. Scientific Learning was a technology-transfer project that included UCSF Medical Center and Rutgers University. He was a co-investigator on the academic research based at Rutgers University. He worked extensively on the technology transfer, business incorporation; venture financing and start-up phases of the company culminating in a successful IPO.

Steve’s academic experience including serving on the research faculty at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and as a visiting scientist at NYU Medical Center in the Department of Biophysics. Steve received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University, a Master’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Hartford, and a Ph.D. in experimental & physiological psychology from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Steve has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications including 15 commercial software programs and more than 40 US Patents.
Nervanix also announced today the formation of an Education Advisory Board to provide guidance for this emerging ed tech sector. Advisory Board members include industry veterans as well as tech-savvy experts.
